I took these photos in 1996 along the spectacular Youghiogheny Trail in Pennsylvania. This trail was subsequently connected to other Pennsylvania trails, now called the Great Allegheny Passage, and in 2006 to the Chesepeake & Ohio Canal trail in Maryland. It is now possible to cycle or hike on rail and towpath trails all the way from Pittsburgh to Washington DC, a distance of 318 miles (510 km).
In 2006 a friend and I cycled the complete C&O canal over 6 days. In 2007 we cycled the complete Great Allegheny Passage over 4 days.
A fun video of the trails.

Other Ontario Trails
I have not had an opportunity to visit all rail trails in Ontario, and there are a few that I have cycled but have not yet had the time to prepare a web page. Some trails are not very long so I will include them here rather than on my home page.
I have cycled the Lynn Valley Trail which links Port Dover with the Town of Simcoe. It is a pleasant but short trail, but has recently been connected to other trails that go all the way to Brantford. The text and photos were provided by a visitor to my website.
I have not had a chance to cycle the Grand Trunk Trail. This link is to a different website.
A longer trail that I would like to visit is the Chrysler Greenway trail near Windsor.
